Accommodation and
meals
Accommodation will
be at the Ruapehu Camp Kakahi, unless otherwise notified. Groups
will be divided into age groups and male and female. All meals
whilst we are at the lodge are provided. Children will be
expected to help. Monday lunch and Friday dinner is not included
as we are in transit. Stops for these meal breaks are made at
Subway and it is suggested that children have a small amount of
change for lunch on the way to the mountains, and evening meal
on the way back to Auckland. Whilst they do not need money for
snacks (very expensive), up the mountain, the kids usually can’t
resist.
Wet-weather Activities
Should the mountain be closed, then alternate activities will be
organised. These activities include; Indoor climbing wall,
rafting-Turangi, canoeing-Whanganui or Turangi, Tokaau hot pools
& hungi, bush walks-Tongariro or Mountain Biking-Fishers Track.
These activities are included in the camp fee.
