COVID-19 Health and Safety Operations

All Adrift Tongariro staff are fully vaccinated.

All vehicles, equipment, and the Adrift shop are cleaned and disinfected after each tour. All Adrift staff and clients will maintain good hygiene practices to ensure they take appropriate steps to minimise the chances of spreading any virus, including regular washing of hands, and the use of face masks when appropriate and required.

We are committed to preventing the spread of Covid-19 and as such, there are some rules we want you to acknowledge.

  1. Don’t visit if you are ill – please stay home, rest up and come back when you are feeling better, having observed all Covid-19 health and safety recommendations. Please contact us and we can postpone your booking.
  2. Face coverings are not required while hiking and we maintain a 1m distance between all those on tour. Face coverings are required at the Adrift Tongariro base and while travelling within Adrift Tongariro vehicles for all guests aged 12 and over.
  3. Everyone must scan or sign in – either by the NZ COVID Tracker app or by the Adrift Tongariro pre-registration form.
  4. Follow physical distancing measures – these are 2m within the Adrift Tongariro base and 1m within vehicles. The exception is for when guides need to be in close physical contact to undertake safety measures for example the fitting on crampons. If closer contact is required PPE will be used.
  5. If possible clients should bring their own helmets (cycling helmets are ok), toilet paper, hand sanitiser, disposable gloves and face coverings. Adrift Tongariro does supply helmets and hand sanitiser if clients do not have their own.
  6. Wash your hands.
  7. Vaccine pass to be viewed on arrival. If you are unvaccinated please contact us, we can arrange a separate tour.
